TRIP OVERVIEW:

A newly established Park is part of what is known as Selous Game Reserve. Founded in 2019 and covers over 30,000 square kilometres, now the largest National Park in Africa.

The park boasts Tanzania’s largest elephant population and a large number of lions, leopards, African hunting dogs, buffaloes, and hippos. Species commonly seen are bushbucks, red and blue duikers, elands, hartebeests, hyenas, giraffes, oryx, reedbucks, impalas, waterbucks, and zebras.

Trip Itinerary

DAY 1: DAR ES SALAAM-SELOUS/NYERERE PARK.

Pick up from Airport or Hotel in Dar es Salaam, and begin to drive down south of Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve; the drive shall take 5 to 6 hours. You will arrive in time for lunch, at around 16h00 in the evening, depart for sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River to spotting hippos, crocodiles and birds, and enjoy the spectacular sundown. DAY 2: SELOUS GAME RESERVE:

After early breakfast, depart for a full day game drive in the Selous Game Reserve, exploring the game in the surrounding areas. Animals, including elephants, giraffes, lions, buffalos, zebras and even the rare African wild dogs, are common. Picnic lunch in the mid-day, later on, return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: SELOUS/NYERERE-DAR ES SALAAM.

Early morning walking safari usually starts at 6 am or 6.30 am after first-morning tea or coffee, accompanied by an armed ranger, and it will take around 2-3 hours long. After enjoying your breakfast in the morning, check out, then begin the drive back to Dar es salaam for the drop off at your hotel or airport.
